Tagmax was commissioned by a prominent agricultural retailer to provide a high-visibility security solution for their Hereford location. This project marked our first installation for this particular customer, who required a robust system to protect a diverse and high-value inventory ranging from farm clothing to specialised agricultural medicines.
The client's primary requirement was a visible tagging system that would act as a significant, immediate deterrent to potential shoplifters while accommodating a wide entrance.
The Project: Overcoming Structural Challenges in an Evolving Storefront
The project required technical problem-solving to ensure the security system remained effective despite upcoming changes to the store's physical entrance.
Key Objectives:
- Maximum Deterrence: Install a pair of high-visibility AM Pedestal Systems to protect premium farm apparel and medical stock.
- Structural Adaptability: Position the pedestals to account for future changes to the shopfront while maintaining optimal detection.
- Pristine Finish: Execute a clean installation in an existing environment, ensuring all cabling was completely concealed.
Action Taken:
- Strategic Retrofitting: Because the shopfront was scheduled for renovation, the Tagmax team determined the most effective positioning was slightly inside the store. We installed the pedestals at a 2.2-metre separation to provide total coverage for the extra-wide exit.
- Invisible Infrastructure: To achieve a clean aesthetic and eliminate trip hazards, our engineers performed a "chase out" beneath a glued floor mat. This allowed us to bury the structural cabling discreetly within the floor.
- Specialist Wiring: The system was powered directly into a non-switched fused spur. All power cabling was installed under the flooring, emerging only at the base of the right-hand side (RHS) pedestal for a tidy, professional finish.
- Collaborative Delivery: Our in-house engineering team worked closely with on-site staff to ensure the installation was completed efficiently and with zero disruption to daily trade.
