Looking to upgrade their existing , Janan, a nationwide group of companies that specialise in the sales of Indian and Pakistani clothing, approached the team here at Tagmax to help with their Manchester store, based on our previous experience.

The role of a retail tagging security system is to protect products – tags on items track products if they're taken to a defined monitoring field (an exit door, for example). However, one of the more overlooked benefits of having a well-functioning system is that it can seta safe in-store atmosphere – the presence of a visible security tag is likely to deter a would-be shoplifter, while genuine customers may be appreciative of the fact that the item they're looking at is protected. As such, the likelihood of theft is reduced and people will be able to browse around in comfort, not being made nervous by the sight of staff, constantly watching them.
'Retrofitting' refers to the existing infrastructure (the framework of the system) being kept in place while being integrated with a more-modern security solution. This saves time and money in keeping certain parts of the old system while upgrading only parts that need updating with new parts.
In this case, we installed a single Optimum AM pedestal – a system that is of a much better quality in terms of tracking at different frequencies. Without knowing the site beforehand, we quickly got to work to understand it and perform this simple installation – we installed the pedestal by drilling down into the basement to power it up.
All the work was done in just a single day, allowing the client to quickly get up to speed with their new pedestal system (which was relatively easy, considering it was installed within than existing framework that they were used to). We're happy to say they were pleased with the work and are looking forward to a fruitful future with more store openings with similar installations protecting their products and people.
