A concealed door system uses the same principle as a visible security pedestal, but the detection technology is built into the door frame itself rather than standing either side of it. Our AM Loop and 58kHz Digital Loop systems both work on acousto-magnetic (AM) technology: a discreet receiver, hidden in or around the door upright, creates an invisible detection field across the entrance. When a customer carrying an electronically tagged item that hasn't been deactivated at the till passes through that field, the tag triggers an alarm.

Because the receivers can be recessed into the frame or colour-matched to it, there's no visible hardware for shoplifters to spot and plan around, and no obstruction for genuine customers or wheelchair and pushchair access. It's the same underlying detection reliability as a pedestal system, just built into the architecture of the doorway instead of standing in front of it.
